മഡ്ഗാവ്∙ ഇന്ത്യൻ സൂപ്പർ ലീഗ് ഫുട്ബോളിൽ ഒന്നാം സ്ഥാനക്കാരെ അവസാന സ്ഥാനക്കാർ വീഴ്ത്തി. പോയിന്റ് പട്ടികയിൽ മുന്നിട്ടുനിൽക്കുന്ന ബ്രസീലിയൻ ഇതിഹാസം സീക്കോയുടെ ഗോവ എഫ്സിക്കെതിരെ അവസാന സ്ഥാനക്കാരായ നിക്കോളാസ് അനൽക്കയുടെ മുംബൈ സിറ്റി എഫ്സിയുടെ വിജയം എതിരില്ലാത്ത രണ്ടു ഗോളിന്. സീസണിൽ മുംബൈയുടെ തുടർച്ചയായ രണ്ടാം വിജയമാണിത്. ഇരുപകുതികളിലുമായിട്ടായിരുന്നു മുംബൈയുടെ ഗോളുകൾ. ഐഎസ്എല്ലിലെ മൂന്നാം മൽസരത്തിൽ മൂന്നാം ഗോൾ കണ്ടെത്തിയ ഇന്ത്യൻ നായകൻ സുനിൽ ഛേത്രി (33-ാം മിനിറ്റ്, പെനൽറ്റി), സീസണിലെ രണ്ടാം ഗോൾ കണ്ടെത്തിയ ഫ്രെഡറിക് പിക്വിയോൺ (48) എന്നിവരാണ് മുംബൈയ്ക്ക് വിജയം സമ്മാനിച്ചത്.
വിജയത്തോടെ മുംബൈ സിറ്റി എഫ്സി രണ്ടു പടികടന്ന് ആറാം സ്ഥാനത്തെത്തി. തോറ്റെങ്കിലും ഗോവയുടെ ഒന്നാം സ്ഥാനത്തിന് തൽക്കാലം ഭീഷണിയില്ല. എന്നാൽ, മുംബൈയുടെ വിജയം കേരളാ ബ്ലാസ്റ്റേഴ്സിന് തിരിച്ചടിയായി. അഞ്ചു കളികളിൽ നിന്ന് നാലു പോയിന്റുള്ള ബ്ലാസ്റ്റേഴ്സ് പോയിന്റ് പട്ടികയിൽ അവസാന സ്ഥാനത്തായി.
ഇരുടീമുകളും രണ്ടുവീതം മാറ്റങ്ങളുമായാണ് ഇന്നത്തെ മൽസരത്തിനിറങ്ങിയത്. ഡൽഹിക്കെതിരെ നേടിയ വിജയത്തിന്റെ തുടർച്ച ലക്ഷ്യമിട്ട് തുടക്കം മുതൽ ആക്രമിച്ച മുംബൈയ്ക്കായിരുന്നു മൽസരത്തിൽ കൂടുതൽ സമയവും മുൻതൂക്കം. സുനിൽ ഛേത്രിയുടെയും പിക്വിയോണിന്റെയും നേതൃത്വത്തിൽ അവർ ഗോവൻ ഗോൾമുഖത്ത് നിരന്തരം ആക്രണം നടത്തി. മുംബൈ ആക്രമണങ്ങൾക്ക് തടയിടാൻ ഗോവൻ ഗോളി ലക്ഷ്മികാന്ത് കട്ടിമണി പലപ്പോഴും വല്ലാതെ പാടുപെട്ടു. മൽസരത്തിന്റെ ഗതിക്കനുകൂലമായി 33-ാം മിനിറ്റിലായിരുന്നു മുംബൈയുടെ ആദ്യ ഗോൾ. തങ്ങൾക്കനുകൂലമായി ലഭിച്ച പെനല്റ്റി ലക്ഷ്യത്തിലെത്തിച്ച ഛേത്രി മുംബൈയ്ക്ക് ലീഡ് നൽകി. സ്കോർ 1-0.
ഇടവേളയ്ക്ക് ശേഷം മൂന്നാം മിനിറ്റിൽത്തന്നെ മുംബൈ രണ്ടാം ഗോൾനേടി. നോർദെയെടുത്ത ഫ്രീകിക്കിൽനിന്നായിരുന്നു ഗോളിലേക്കെത്തിയ നീക്കത്തിന്റെ തുടക്കം. നോർദെ ഉയർത്തി നൽകിയ പന്ത് അഗ്വിലേറെ നേരെ ഗോവൻ ബോക്സിലേക്ക് മറിച്ചു. കാത്തുനിന്ന പിക്വിയോൺ തൊടുത്ത പൊള്ളുന്ന ഷോട്ട് വലയിൽ. സ്കോർ 2-0. രണ്ടു ഗോളിന് പിന്നിലായതിനു പിന്നാലെ ഗോൾ മടക്കാൻ ഗോവൻ താരങ്ങൾ ശ്രമിച്ചെങ്കിലും മുംബൈ പ്രതിരോധം വഴങ്ങിയില്ല. പ്രതിരോധനിരയ്ക്ക് പിഴച്ചപ്പോഴാകട്ടെ തകർപ്പൻ സേവുകളുമായി ഇന്ത്യൻ ഗോൾകീപ്പർ സുബ്രതോ പോളും മുംബൈയെ കാത്തു

മുംബൈ: ഇന്ത്യന് സൂപ്പര് ലീഗില് വാലറ്റക്കാരായിരുന്ന മുംബൈ സിറ്റി എഫ്.സി. ഒന്നാം സ്ഥാനത്ത് കുതിക്കുന്ന എഫ്.സി. ഗോവയെ അട്ടിമറിച്ചു. മടക്കമില്ലാത്ത രണ്ടു ഗോളിനായിരുന്നു മുംബൈയുടെ ഈ സീസണിലെ രണ്ടാമത്തെ ജയം. ഇതോടെ അഞ്ചു കളികളില് നിന്ന് ഏഴ് പോയിന്റുള്ള മുംബൈ എട്ടാം സ്ഥാനത്ത് നിന്ന് ആറാം സ്ഥാനത്തെത്തി. അഞ്ചു കളികളില് നിന്ന് നാലു പോയിന്റുള്ള കേരള ബ്ലാസ്റ്റേഴ്സ് ഏറ്റവും അവസാനക്കാരുമായി. അപ്രതീക്ഷിത തോല്വി വഴങ്ങിയെങ്കിലും ആറു കളികളില് നിന്ന് പത്ത് പോയിന്റുള്ള ഗോവ ഒന്നാം സ്ഥാനത്ത് തുടരുകയാണ്. രണ്ട്, മൂന്ന്, നാല് സ്ഥാനങ്ങളിലുള്ള ചെന്നൈയിന്, പുണെ, ഡെല്ഹി എന്നിവരേക്കാള് ഒരു പോയിന്റ് മാത്രമാണ് ഇവര്ക്ക് കൂടുതല്.
സുനില് ഛേത്രിയുടെയും ഫ്രെഡ്രിക് പിക്യോന്നെയുടെയും ഗോളുകളിലാണ് മുംബൈ ഗോവയെ വീഴ്ത്തിയത്. 33-ാം മിനിറ്റില് പെനാല്റ്റിയില് നിന്നായിരുന്നു ഛേത്രിയുടെ ഗോള്. 48-ാം മിനിറ്റില് പിക്യോന്നെ പട്ടിക തികച്ചു.
ബോക്സില് ഫ്രെഡ്രിക് പിക്യൊന്നെയെ രാജു ഗെയ്ക്വാദ് പിന്നില് നിന്ന് പിടിച്ചുവീഴ്ത്തിയതിന് ലഭിച്ച പെനാല്റ്റി ലക്ഷ്യത്തിലെത്തിച്ചാണ് ഛേത്രി മുംബൈയ്ക്ക് ഞെട്ടുന്ന ലീഡ് നേടിക്കൊടുത്തത്. ഛേത്രിയുടെ ഷോട്ടിന് ഗോളി കൃത്യമായി ചാടിയെങ്കിലും ഫലമുണ്ടായില്ല.
രണ്ടാം പകുതിയില് ഗോവ ഉണരുമെന്ന് കരുതിയെങ്കിലും അതുണ്ടായില്ല. വിശ്രമം കഴിഞ്ഞ മൂന്ന് മിനിറ്റിനുള്ളില് മുംബൈ വീണ്ടും സീക്കോയുടെ ടീമിനെ ഞെട്ടിച്ചു. യുവാന് അഗ്യുലേറ നല്കിയ പാസ് വലയിലാക്കിയ പിക്യെുന്നെയായിരുന്നു സ്കോറര്.

മുംബൈ > ഇന്ത്യന് സൂപ്പര് ലീഗില് മുംബൈ സിറ്റി എഫ്സിക്ക് തുടര്ച്ചയായ രണ്ടാം ജയം. പോയിന്റ് പട്ടികയില് ഒന്നാമതുള്ള എഫ്സി ഗോവയെ എതിരില്ലാത്ത രണ്ടു ഗോളിന് തോല്പ്പിച്ചു. തുടര്ച്ചയായ രണ്ടാം മത്സരത്തിലും സുനില് ഛേത്രി ഗോള് നേടിയപ്പോള് ഫെഡ്രിക് പിക്വിയോണിന്റെ വകയായിരുന്നു രണ്ടാമത്തേത്. തോറ്റെങ്കിലും ആറു കളിയില് 10 പോയിന്റുമായി ഗോവ ഒന്നാം സ്ഥാനത്ത് തുടര്ന്നു. രണ്ടാം ജയത്തോടെ മുംബൈ കേരള ബ്ലാസ്റ്റേഴ്സിനെ അവസാന സ്ഥാനത്തേക്ക് പിന്തള്ളി രണ്ടു പടി കയറി.
ഐഎസ്എലില് ഇന്ന് കളിയില്ല. നാളെ പുണെ സിറ്റിയെ കേരള ബ്ലാസ്റ്റേഴ്സ് നേരിടും. കളിയുടെ 33-ാം മിനിറ്റില് മുംബൈ മുന്നിലെത്തി. പിക്വിയോണിനെ രാജു ഗെയ്ക്ക്വാദ് ബോക്സില് വീഴ്ത്തിയതിനുള്ള പെനല്റ്റി ഛേത്രി ലക്ഷ്യത്തിലെത്തിച്ചു. മറുവശത്ത് ലിയോ മൗറയിലൂടെ ഗോവ തിരിച്ചടിക്കാന് ശ്രമിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു. പക്ഷേ, പന്ത് മുംബൈ വലയില് എത്തിക്കുന്നതില് ഗോവന് മുന്നേറ്റം പരാജയപ്പെട്ടു.
രണ്ടാംപകുതിയുടെ തുടക്കത്തില് തന്നെ മുംബൈ അടുത്ത ഗോളും നേടി. സോണി നോര്ദെ എടുത്ത ഫ്രീകിക്ക് ഇടതുഭാഗത്തുള്ള യുവാന് അഗ്വയിലേറയ്ക്കാണ് കിട്ടിയത്. അഗ്വയിലേറ അതു ബോക്സിലേക്ക് നല്കി. പിക്വിയോണ് ഗോളടിച്ചു. അവസാന നിമിഷങ്ങളില് തിരിച്ചടിക്കാനുള്ള ഗോവയെ നീക്കങ്ങളെ മുംബൈ സമര്ഥമായി തടഞ്ഞു.

Mumbai City FC continued their surge up the table with a comfortable 2-0 win over league leaders FC Goa at the DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai.
Goals from Sunil Chhetri and Frederic Piquonne were enough to give the home team all three points on a muggy night in the financial capital of the country.
The home team made two changes to their starting XI from their win over Delhi Dynamos. Aitor made way for the ex-Hammer Frederic Piquionne and Ashutosh Mehta replaced Subhash Singh. FC Goa also made a couple of changes to their lineup with Raju Gaekwad replacing Nicolau Colaco in defence and Victorino Fernandes coming in for the injured Reinaldo up front.
FC Goa had made all the early running. Despite playing a narrow formation, Goa used the width provided by the excellent Narayan Das to great effect and looked a real threat going forward. The Gaurs once again opted to line up in a diamond formation with Leo Moura at the tip of it. And in the early exchanges he began finding plenty of time and space on the ball and looked the man most likely to unlock Mumbai City FC’s defence.
Narayan Das had the first shot on goal in the 4th minute after skipping past his marker. But the shot was well wide. FC Goa then went close to breaking the deadlock in the seventh minute. From a corner, the initial header came from Gaekwad. His flick on was nearly turned into the Mumbai’s net by Victorino but he failed to control his effort and trouble Subrata Paul in Mumbai City's net.
Mumbai City FC then steadily got back into the game and had a couple of shots on target. Neither of which failed to trouble Kattimani greatly. But his heart would have been in his mouth when Sony Norde’s deflected shot off Gaekwad nearly made into the back of the net. Goa then broke from the resulting corner. He jinxed past a couple of players before playing Victorino in. The forward opted to square into the six yard area rather go for a shot on goal.
After a promising start to the match where both sides exchanged shots on goal the game settled out and it became a war of attrition. With both sides’ midfield failing to stamp their authority in the game, the ball possession constantly turned over from one side to the other.
The breakthrough came in the 33rd minute. Gabriel found some space on the right flank and floated a beautiful ball into the back post. Piquionne looked the favourite to get to the ball before Raju’s untidy challenge brought him down. The referee had no hesitation in pointing to the spot and Chettri stepped up to slot home his 3rd goal in as many games for Mumbai City this season.
The three-pronged attack of Mumbai in the form of Sonny Norde, Chhetri and Piquionne then started imposing their quality on the game and carved out opportunities for one another. Chhetri the first to try his luck. His left foot curler saved by a diving Katimani in the 39th minute.
The Goan goalkeeper then found himself in the thick of the action again as he was forced to produce a fantastic save to deny Piquionne in the 40th minute after Goa conceded sloppy possession in the middle of the field.
After the break, Mumbai City were the quickest off the blocks and doubled their lead within three minutes of the restart.
The goal coming straight out of Mumbai’s training ground routine. Norde initially stood over the set piece and his clever layoff to Juan Aguilera allowed the Spaniard to find Piquionne in the box with nodded home with a diving header.
Zico responded by throwing on Mandar Rao Dessai and the mercurial midfielder Jofre to try and pull a goal back. And the introduction of the attacking pair began to make a difference.
Crisp passing in the middle led to the ball falling to Moura’s feet who played Victorino in with a sublime through ball. But the Goan failed to control his shot and just fired over Subrata Paul’s goal. He then went on the waste another chance where his tame shot fell into the veteran national goalkeeper’s hands.
With tempers flaring and Piquionne acting as the chief antagonist, Anelka decided to bring himself on and give his legs a workout. Mumbai City then proceeded to kill the attacking threat of FC Goa and retained possession for large periods of time to seal the three points and take them level on points with Atletico De Kolkata.
Zico was left to reflect on what could have been and start working towards FC Goa’s next home game when they take on FC Pune City at Fatorda on the 30th of October.
